Reed....god that name. It was that name that made his blood stop flowing, his breath catch, a shock to his system. Reed O'Cosaint. Younger sister to his King. The Princess, the spirit in charge of death. Emotionless, secretive, young Reed.
He couldn't stop thinking about her, that brown haired girl.  She was smart, but she was unstable. She was forgiven to others....but not herself. Reed...Princess...Ree....his best friend. Ald sat in his last class of the day staring out the window, the sun shining brightly. He smiled to himself as he remembered her smile, something that was rarer as the days passed. She laughed but it sounded so hollow. Mosst people, out of all six of the girls, wouldn't give Ree a second glance. She was just too shy. But yet....
Yet he loved her with every thing he had. It frustrated him that she didn't reconized that he loved her more than just a friend but he would wait.  She was just Reed. Shy, socially akward, a bit niave, Reed. He hadbeen with her for years, since they were so young. He was her guardian.  He glanced at the clock. Five minutes left of class.
He sighed as he fumed a bit. Why was he so obsessed with being near Reed? He didnt know but it did kinda make sure Oak didn't murder him. Ah...Oak. He only wanted what was best for his little sister.  Alder smirked at the though of having immunity from being slapped around because Ree trusted him.
The bell rang as Alder jumped out of his seat and ran full speed out of the class room and to his locker.  He threw his stuff in then slammed it shut, running full speed down the hallway and took a sharp left, down three sets of stairs and a right, running somemore until he reached the locker he was looking for. There she stood, talking with a red haired girl and a ash white hair girl, all three laughing.
Willow Hallows and Hazel Woods were two friends both kids had made over the years, both best friends with the other. It was strange to think about with those two. Haza, as she insisted to be called, was the court assassin. For that, she mainly answered to the Princess of the Dead. Wil, the tomboy of the group, was the messager.  Alder carefully snuck behind Ree and grabbed her waist with one arm, covering her mouth with the other. She let out a muffled scream as she began to struggle. He leaned her back enough to be able to see straight down at her.
"Hello princess." She gave him a glare as he laughed, the other two standing there snickering. He released her as she spun away, standing there staring at him as he just smiled. She was a small girl, brown hair with a streak of blonde and green framing her face. Her eyes flashed darkly before she hugged him. Ald patted her head before dragging her off.
"Bye girls! I have to make sure this one gets home before her brother skins me alive!" Ree waved as they got out of the school and down the street. Ree watched the sky as they walked, deep in though. Alder heard hurried steps behind him as he saw Elder running for them. Ree turned and smiled as he joined with them.
"You are coming home with us Elder? Would Ro not panic if you did not come home?" Elder laughed.
"Ro would have my head if I came home on our meeting day. Library as normal little Princess?" Ree nodded as they all got to the house, finding Oak sitting on the couch discussing issues with Rowan. Ree walked over and gave her brother a kiss on the forehead.
"We are home. It is good to see you Ro." Oak looked up as Ro greeted the trio. Alder found it a bit amusing seeing the O'Cosaint siblings together. Oak was tall, blonde and very, very well kept. Reed was very much on the small side, her hair could be easily confused for black sometimes and her clothing all had a strange deathy-but-friendly feel to them. Oak also adored his sister to the point of skitzing if she had watery eyes. That one day in Italy was hell for poor Alder when Ree's eyes happened to water badly due to dust in them.
"Hello Ree. I trust you and Elder have your appointment in the library. I'm thinking spaghetti for dinner. How does that sound?" Ree smiled.
"If that is what you want. I'm going to go to my appointment now. Alder, try not to get into trouble. " She went upstairs and into her library without a single word, Elder following her.
The library was huge and spacious, books covering all four walls with a table and a few chairs for guests. There was a large soft chair that Ree sat on, glyphs and her insignia stitched into it with gold. Elder pulled a chair over to where she sat and placed it in front of her before sitting himself.
"Reed, you have to understand we came to America for a reason." Ree looked at him before shaking her head.
"Why? Why did we come to America? Why couldn't we stay over in Ireland or at least Europe?" She leaned back, cussing up a storn in Icelandic. Elder looked at the girl, sighing a bit.
"I cannot tell you at this time Reed. Come on...let's see what pretty pictures you can draw for me this week." He handed her paper and pencil as she stood and walked over to one of the tables, sitting down and closing her eyes. Elder stood behind her as she let out a breath.
"I want you to go deep inside yourself and find the line to events of relevence, to people, things,  whatever your hand draws." She nodded as the pencil touched the paper, resting before slowly moving. Elder watched carefully as pitures began to form, ruins and something else. An insignia of something, or rather someone, no one wanted her to remember. He took the paper as soon as she was done, studying the drawings.
The one that was forbidden stood surrounded by a curse of death, non active but if ree had really wanted it to be, it would have been. He knew that deep in her psychological mind set, old resentment and guilt would surface. He quickly rumbled the paper up.
"Very good...is there anything you wish to discuss or talk about?" Ree shook her head. Elder frowned slightly and gave her a hug.
"It will be alright Ree..." Ree nodded as she stood and walked down stairs. Oak stood over the stove with a frown.
"Reed, Ill be right back, I have to run to the store to get some sauce." The girl blinked before shaking her head.
"I'll go get it. I'll take Alder and Birch with since you are so paranoid." Oak thought for a moment before nodding and handing her a twenty.
"Straight there and straight back, Understood?" Ree nodded as the three walked out the door. Ald looped his arm through Ree's left and made Elder loop his through Ree's right.
"Now we go skipping down the street!" And with that they were off down the sidewalk, barely dodging the pedestrians.

Ree held the bag as the three of them walked back to the O'Cosaint household. It was dark out seeing as it took them four different stores to find tomato sauce. As they walked past a dark alley, Ree stopped. She peered down it, swearing she saw a pair of eyes staring at her a moment before. Even as she stood there, her blood turned cold. She felt fear in the pit of her gut and it was spreading fast. Alder came running up to her.
"Hey Ree. You alright?" Ree nodded slowly.
"Yes...I just could have sworn that...I felt something watching me..."
